Crispy air fryer tofu nuggets paired with a creamy, savory-sweet peanut sauce, offering a quick and satisfying plant-based meal or snack with bold flavor and great texture.
Ingredients
1 block (14 oz) firm tofu, pressed and cubed
1/4 cup cornstarch
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup peanut butter
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon maple syrup
1 tablespoon lime juice
1/4 cup water
1 teaspoon sriracha (optional)
Instructions
- Cut the pressed tofu into bite-sized cubes.
- In a bowl, mix the cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and salt.
- Toss the tofu cubes in the cornstarch mixture until evenly coated.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Arrange the tofu in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
- Air fry for 12–15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy and golden.
- While the tofu cooks, whisk together peanut butter, soy sauce, maple syrup, lime juice, water, and sriracha until smooth.
- Serve the hot tofu nuggets with the peanut sauce on the side for dipping.
Notes
Pressing tofu helps remove excess moisture for better crisping.
A light spray of oil can be used for extra browning.
Store leftover sauce separately and stir before serving.
Reheat tofu in the air fryer to restore crispiness.
