Description

These 7-Up Biscuits are light, fluffy, and quick to make with just a few pantry staples. The soda adds subtle sweetness and lift, creating tender biscuits perfect for breakfast, dinner, or snacking with your favorite spread.

Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tbsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, cold and cubed

3/4 cup 7-Up soda (or any lemon-lime soda)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in the cold cubed butter with a pastry cutter or fork until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Pour in 7-Up soda and stir just until dough comes together. Avoid overmixing.
  5. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and gently pat to about 1-inch thickness.
  6. Use a biscuit cutter or glass to cut out biscuits and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.
  8. Serve warm with butter, honey, or your favorite jam.

Notes

Keep butter very cold for the fluffiest biscuits.

Avoid overmixing the dough to prevent toughness.

Self-rising flour can be used—just reduce or omit baking powder and salt.

Freeze cut dough before baking for make-ahead convenience.

Great served with honey, jam, or sausage gravy.
