Ingredients
1 kg (2.2 lb) potatoes, skins left on
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tsp garlic granules
Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Wash the potatoes, leaving skins on, and cut into 1 cm-thick chips.
- Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and spread the chips out in a single layer.
- Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic granules, sea salt, and black pepper.
- Toss well to coat evenly.
- Bake for 45 minutes, turning halfway through, until golden and starting to crisp.
- For extra crunch, bake for an additional 10–15 minutes until perfectly crisp and golden.
- Serve hot with an extra sprinkle of salt, if desired.
Notes
Use floury potatoes like Maris Pipers or King Edwards for the best texture.
Add smoked paprika, chili powder, or herbs for extra flavor.
Finish under the grill for an ultra-crispy finish.
Reheat leftovers in the oven or air fryer for 5–10 minutes to restore crispiness.
Skip the microwave — it will make the chips soft.
