Description
Mango Frooti is a sweet, tangy, and refreshing summer drink made from ripe and raw mangoes. This vibrant, smooth beverage is free from preservatives and full of natural flavors, making it the perfect refreshing drink for both kids and adults.
Ingredients
2 cups ripe mango, chopped
½ cup raw (green) mango, chopped
½ cup sugar (adjust to taste)
6 cups water, divided
Instructions
- In a large pot, combine the chopped ripe mango, raw mango, sugar, and 2 cups of water. Cover the pot and cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes, or until the mangoes are soft.
- Once the mangoes are cooked, drain the mixture and transfer the cooked mango to a blender. Blend until the mixture is completely smooth.
- Pass the mango puree through a fine sieve to remove any fibers and lumps, ensuring a silky, smooth texture.
- Transfer the strained pulp to a pitcher, add the remaining 4 cups of water, and stir well. Taste and adjust the sweetness or thickness by adding more sugar or water, as needed.
- Refrigerate the Mango Frooti for at least 1 hour to chill. Serve cold over ice, garnished with mint or lime if desired.
Notes
Adjust the sweetness with sugar, honey, or agave syrup to suit your taste.
For a slushy version, freeze the Mango Frooti and blend it with ice cubes.
To add a unique twist, you can add a pinch of salt or black pepper.
