Description
A quick and easy homemade peach simple syrup, perfect for adding a sweet, fruity twist to drinks, desserts, and breakfast dishes.
Ingredients
1 peach
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
Instructions
- Wash, peel, and cut the peach into small pieces. Discard the pit and skins.
- In a small pot, combine the water and sugar. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, whisking frequently until the sugar fully dissolves.
- Add the peach pieces to the pot and continue simmering on low heat for about 10 minutes, or until the peaches begin to break down.
- Remove the pot from heat and allow the mixture to cool for a few minutes.
- Carefully strain the peach syrup into a mason jar or another sealable container, discarding the peach solids.
- Allow the syrup to cool completely before storing. Once cooled, it’s ready to be added to drinks, desserts, or breakfast dishes.
Notes
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
Freeze the syrup in ice cube trays for easy portioning.
If the syrup thickens, warm it up before using.
