Description

This pecan pie bark is a quick and easy dessert with buttery caramel-coated pecans layered over graham crackers. It delivers all the flavors of pecan pie in crunchy, bite-sized pieces perfect for holidays, parties, or gifting.

Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter

1 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

12 graham crackers

1 1/2 cups pecans, halves or whole

Aluminum foil, for lining

1 baking sheet

1 heavy-bottomed pot

Spatula

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  2. Arrange graham crackers in a single layer on the baking sheet, breaking as needed to fit.
  3. In a heavy-bottomed pot, combine butter, sugar, vanilla, and pecans. Bring to a boil over medium-low heat.
  4. Cook for 3 minutes, stirring constantly to prevent burning.
  5. Pour hot mixture evenly over graham crackers and spread with a spatula.
  6. Bake for 8 minutes, until bubbly and golden.
  7. Cool completely, then break into pieces for serving.

Notes

Drizzle melted chocolate over cooled bark for a turtle-inspired version.

Sprinkle sea salt on top for a sweet-salty balance.

Add crushed pretzels with pecans for extra crunch.

Brown sugar can be substituted for granulated sugar for a deeper caramel flavor.

Use gluten-free graham crackers to make this recipe gluten-free.
