Sincronizadas are crispy, cheesy quesadillas filled with savory protein, making them a quick and delicious Mexican dish. Perfect for breakfast or lunch, these tortillas are filled with melted cheese and your choice of protein, creating a satisfying meal in just 10 minutes.
Ingredients
2 (8-inch) flour tortillas
¼ cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
Your choice of protein (e.g., chicken, beef, or plant-based protein)
Instructions
-
Warm a griddle or flat pan over medium heat.
-
Sprinkle ½ of the Monterey Jack cheese over one tortilla. Add your protein of choice, and then top with the remaining cheese.
-
Place the second tortilla on top, covering the cheese and filling mixture.
-
Cook the sincronizada on the griddle or flat pan for 2 to 3 minutes per side until both tortillas are lightly toasted and the cheese is melted. Use a spatula to flip it carefully.
-
Once both sides are golden and crispy, remove from the pan and serve hot with your favorite salsa or chili slices.
Notes
Vegetarian Sincronizada: Skip the protein and opt for sautéed vegetables like bell peppers, mushrooms, and onions for a delicious veggie version.
Spicy Sincronizada: Add sliced jalapeños or a sprinkle of chili flakes for a bit of heat.
Cheese Variations: Swap Monterey Jack for Oaxaca, cheddar, or a blend of your favorites.
Add Avocado: For a creamy addition, top with slices of avocado.
