Description
These Turkey Cranberry Sliders are a delicious way to use Thanksgiving leftovers, featuring layers of tender turkey, cranberry sauce, and melted Swiss cheese baked inside buttery Hawaiian rolls for a warm, savory-sweet treat.
Ingredients
1 package (12-count) Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
3 cups cooked turkey, diced, sliced, or pulled
1 cup cranberry sauce
6 slices Swiss cheese
4 tablespoons butter, melted
1 teaspoon yellow or Dijon mustard
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon poppy seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F and line a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick foil or cooking spray.
- Slice the Hawaiian rolls horizontally, keeping them connected in a sheet. Place the bottom halves in the prepared dish.
- Layer the turkey evenly over the rolls, spread cranberry sauce on top, and add slices of Swiss cheese.
- Place the top halves of the rolls back on.
- In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, mustard, garlic powder, salt, and poppy seeds.
- Pour or brush the butter mixture evenly over the tops of the rolls.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 15 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake an additional 3 minutes, until the tops are golden brown.
- Serve warm and enjoy.
Notes
Assemble sliders up to a day in advance, cover with foil, and refrigerate until ready to bake.
Use chicken instead of turkey if preferred.
Whole-berry cranberry sauce provides the best texture, but jellied sauce works too.
Substitute Swiss with provolone, mozzarella, or brie for variety.
To prevent sogginess, avoid excess cranberry sauce and finish baking uncovered for crisp tops.
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days; reheat in oven or microwave.
