Description
Ube Tiramisu in a Jar is a vibrant twist on the classic Italian dessert, blending Filipino flavors with creamy layers of ube halaya, mascarpone, and coffee-soaked ladyfingers. Served in individual jars, it’s a perfect treat for gatherings, picnics, or cozy nights in.
Ingredients
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup mascarpone cheese
½ cup ube halaya (purple yam jam)
¼ cup sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp ube extract
1 cup brewed coffee or espresso, cooled
1 pack ladyfingers (savoiardi)
Optional: shredded coconut, ube crumbs, or purple yam powder for topping
Instructions
- Brew a strong cup of coffee or espresso and let it cool completely.
- Whip the heavy cream in a bowl until soft peaks form.
- In a separate bowl, combine mascarpone cheese, ube halaya, sweetened condensed milk, and ube extract until smooth.
- Gently fold the whipped cream into the ube mixture until fully incorporated.
- Quickly dip ladyfingers into the cooled coffee, breaking them in half if needed to fit the jars.
- Layer dipped ladyfingers at the bottom of each jar, followed by a scoop of the ube cream mixture. Repeat layers until jars are filled, ending with the cream mixture.
- Cover jars and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Before serving, top with shredded coconut, ube crumbs, or purple yam powder.
Notes
You can use decaf coffee for a kid-friendly version.
Add crushed graham crackers between layers for extra texture.
Store-bought ube halaya works well, but homemade is even better.
