Description

Ube Tiramisu in a Jar is a vibrant twist on the classic Italian dessert, blending Filipino flavors with creamy layers of ube halaya, mascarpone, and coffee-soaked ladyfingers. Served in individual jars, it’s a perfect treat for gatherings, picnics, or cozy nights in.

Ingredients

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup mascarpone cheese

½ cup ube halaya (purple yam jam)

¼ cup sweetened condensed milk

1 tsp ube extract

1 cup brewed coffee or espresso, cooled

1 pack ladyfingers (savoiardi)

Optional: shredded coconut, ube crumbs, or purple yam powder for topping

Instructions

  1. Brew a strong cup of coffee or espresso and let it cool completely.
  2. Whip the heavy cream in a bowl until soft peaks form.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine mascarpone cheese, ube halaya, sweetened condensed milk, and ube extract until smooth.
  4. Gently fold the whipped cream into the ube mixture until fully incorporated.
  5. Quickly dip ladyfingers into the cooled coffee, breaking them in half if needed to fit the jars.
  6. Layer dipped ladyfingers at the bottom of each jar, followed by a scoop of the ube cream mixture. Repeat layers until jars are filled, ending with the cream mixture.
  7. Cover jars and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  8. Before serving, top with shredded coconut, ube crumbs, or purple yam powder.

Notes

You can use decaf coffee for a kid-friendly version.

Add crushed graham crackers between layers for extra texture.

Store-bought ube halaya works well, but homemade is even better.
