Description

This White Garlic Pizza Sauce is a creamy, savory base with garlic, herbs, and Parmesan that elevates your pizza to the next level. Perfect as an alternative to traditional tomato sauce, it’s versatile and quick to make.

Ingredients

1 cup heavy cream

4 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried basil

Red pepper flakes (optional)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant, but not browned.
  2. Sprinkle flour over the garlic and stir to form a roux. Cook for 1 minute to eliminate the raw flour taste.
  3. Slowly whisk in the heavy cream, ensuring no lumps form. Stir in salt, black pepper, oregano, basil, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  4. Continue cooking over medium heat, whisking continuously for 5–7 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
  6. Allow the sauce to cool slightly before spreading it on your pizza dough.

Notes

Lightened-up version: Use whole milk instead of half of the heavy cream for a less rich sauce.

Extra garlic: Add more minced garlic for a stronger flavor.

Spicy: Increase red pepper flakes for more heat.

Herb variations: Try thyme, rosemary, or parsley for different flavor profiles.

Cheesy twist: Add a little mozzarella cheese to the sauce for a cheesy, gooey consistency.
