Description
Brazilian Lemonade is a refreshing and creamy beverage that combines the tartness of fresh limes with the sweetness of condensed milk. This easy-to-make drink is perfect for hot days and gatherings, requiring just a few ingredients and five minutes of prep time. Its unique blend of flavors offers a perfect balance of citrusy zing and smooth sweetness, making it a beloved Brazilian classic.
Ingredients
For the Lemonade
- 6 cups cold water
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 4 juicy limes, washed and cut into eighths
- 冰块适量
For Creaminess
- ½ cup sweetened condensed milk
Instructions
- Prepare Sugar Water: In a large bowl, mix the cold water and sugar, stirring until the sugar completely dissolves. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator until ready to use to ensure the lemonade is cold and refreshing.
- Cut the Limes: Wash the limes thoroughly and cut each one into eight pieces, including the peel, to maximize the citrus flavor.
- Blend First Half: Place half of the lime pieces and half of the chilled water-sugar mixture into a blender. Pulse approximately five times to combine, being careful not to overblend to avoid bitterness from the peel. Then, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a large pitcher, discarding the pulp to keep the drink smooth.
- Repeat Blending: Repeat the blending and straining process with the remaining lime pieces and water-sugar mixture. This ensures an even distribution of flavor throughout the lemonade.
- Add Condensed Milk and Ice: Just before serving, stir in the sweetened condensed milk to add creaminess and sweetness. Add ice to chill the drink further, and give it one last stir. Serve immediately for the best flavor and refreshment.
Notes
- Do not overblend the limes to avoid releasing bitter flavors from the peel.
- Use fresh, juicy limes for the best taste.
- Adjust sugar to taste if you prefer a sweeter or more tart lemonade.
- Serve immediately after adding the condensed milk to prevent separation.
- This recipe can be doubled for larger gatherings.
