Description

A rich and flavorful garlic butter ghee salmon bake featuring tender, flaky salmon fillets coated in a glossy garlic-infused ghee and butter mixture, finished with fresh lemon slices and chopped parsley for a bright, balanced finish. This easy baked salmon recipe is perfect for a healthy, delicious main course.

Ingredients

Salmon

  • 4 fresh salmon fillets, about 170 grams each

Garlic Butter Ghee Mixture

  • 2 tablespoons ghee, melted
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 fresh garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Toppings and Garnish

  • 1 whole lemon, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for greasing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat and prepare baking dish. Preheat your oven to 200 degrees Celsius (about 400 degrees Fahrenheit) and lightly grease a baking dish using the olive oil to prevent the salmon from sticking.
  2. Make the garlic butter ghee mixture. In a small bowl, combine the melted ghee, melted unsalted butter, minced garlic, salt, and freshly ground black pepper. Mix well until fully integrated and aromatic.
  3. Arrange salmon fillets. Place the salmon fillets skin side down evenly spaced in the prepared baking dish to ensure even cooking.
  4. Coat salmon with mixture and add lemon. Spoon the prepared garlic butter ghee mixture evenly over each salmon fillet, ensuring good coverage. Arrange the lemon slices on top of the salmon to infuse citrus flavor during baking.
  5. Bake the salmon. Bake the salmon in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, depending on fillet thickness, until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and is cooked through but still tender.
  6. Finish and garnish. Remove the baking dish from the oven, sprinkle freshly chopped parsley over the salmon, and spoon some of the pan juices on top for extra flavor and moisture.
  7. Serve. Serve the salmon immediately while warm for the best taste and texture.

Notes

  • Bring salmon to room temperature for 10 to 15 minutes before baking to ensure even cooking.
  • Do not overbake the salmon, as it continues to cook slightly after removal from the oven, which can cause dryness.
  • For extra brightness, squeeze fresh lemon juice over the salmon just before serving.
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days to maintain freshness.
