Description

This Honey Baked Salmon is a delicious and easy weeknight dinner featuring a sweet and savory honey glaze. The salmon turns tender and flaky, ready in about 20 minutes using simple ingredients for a nutritious and flavorful meal.

Ingredients

Glaze Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

Main Ingredient

  • 1 salmon filet (14-16 oz)
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F and line a baking pan with foil to make cleanup easier.
  2. Prepare Glaze: In a small saucepan over low heat, blend together butter, brown sugar, honey, soy sauce, olive oil, Dijon mustard, and ground ginger. Stir until the mixture is smooth and the sugar is fully dissolved.
  3. Prepare Salmon: Place the salmon filet skin-side down on the foil-lined baking pan. If there are any bones, remove them beforehand. Season the salmon with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Apply Glaze: Spoon the prepared honey glaze evenly over the top of the salmon filet, ensuring it is well coated.
  5. Bake: Bake the salmon uncovered at 400 degrees F for 10-12 minutes. Cooking time depends on the thickness of the filet; test for doneness by checking if the fish flakes easily with a fork.

Notes

  • Don’t overbake the salmon as it cooks quickly and can dry out fast.
  • Use fillets of similar size to ensure even baking.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
